Magpie bird stone

Magpie bird stone (Copychus malabaricus) is a member of the family Turdidae. Turdidae family of birds known to have good singing abilities with a melodious voice, bermelodi, and very varied. Murai rock fame not only by the sound of birds is quite tuneful, but also very aktraktif fighting style.
The types of rock thrush, known in Indonesia are as follows:

  • Murai Banjar (Kalimantan), is the most popular type in Borneo, because they often dominate the various races in Borneo. The spread in East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. Tail length 10-12 cm.
  • Murai Palangka (Borneo), tail length 15-18 cm.  
Living in Central Kalimantan and West Kalimantan. Larwo (Murai Java), living in Central Java and West Java. The body is much smaller than the field of magpie. This species is very rarely found. 80-10 cm long tail.
Regardless of the 8 sub-species of magpie stone above, there is still magpie stones from neighboring countries, namely:
Murai stone Malaysia, Penang region. Thin and long tail of about 30-33 cm and posture is greater than the field magpie. Murai stone Thailand, who lived on the border of Thailand and Malaysia, the body is greater than the field of the magpie, 32-35 cm long tail and shiny black color indigo (blue).
